From the Executive Director

December 14, 2010

Dear Horse Enthusiast,

Just 2 years ago now, a small group of dedicated individuals set out to help horses in need. And thanks to
your help, we are now 80 individuals strong, and there is no less of a need for protecting and rehabilitating the horses for adoption. The task comes with a high price, but since the inception of the organization, through your generous donations and support, HAPI Trails has raised just over $23,000!

HAPI Trails, Horse Adoption Program Inc., is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit. We remain a 100% volunteer organization, established to ensure a safe haven for abandoned, abused and neglected horses with the intention to permanently place unwanted horses with compatible new owners.

Since June 2009, there have been 20 horses placed with the organization and 9 horses have been adopted. Your support unequivocally helps provide care and rehabilitation for the horses currently enrolled in the adoption program. In addition, your support aids horse owners within the community who struggle financially by purchasing hay, farrier assistance and any needed veterinarian supplies.

The rise in feed and hay costs and the lack of disposable income associated with job loss and the steady
increase in the cost of living, has left many individuals scrambling to make ends meet when it comes to their equine friends. Many of the horses being relinquished to HAPI Trails, have come into the program, because they were not able to receive from their owners, the proper care necessary to ensure their health and well being. Unfortunately, often in desperate economic times, domestic animals also experience the fallout.

Our accomplishments to date have been achieved due to the tremendous support of the community through memberships, donations and volunteer efforts. Your support is invaluable. Please consider a donation of $25.00 or more, and know that your dollars are being leveraged to help feed and care for a horse in need.

Thank you!
Most Respectfully,
Julie Martin-Stacey
Executive Director
