Thanks to Bonnie McCormick, we have a round pen! Local trainer Chris Mason has offered to polish some of our horses, hopefully making them and easy adoption choice.

HAPI Trails would like to thank Christine for her dedication to the HAPI horses these past few months. Through rain, snow, freezing temps and warm sun shinny days, she came and brushed, walked, fed, watered and helped us care for all the horses. She was a joy and an inspiration to us all, and we will miss her! Wishing her the best with her new endeavors in the East. Safe Travels and HAPI Trails! Christine you will always have a place in our hearts…Thank you!

Little Max

Max is a tiny little 2+ year old TW, palomino mare. Little Max was recused from slaughter by a local woman who is currently caring for Max in Foster Care. Max is sweet, shy and… a bit knock-kneed. Hopefully she will grow out of her knock-knee-ness. Her nutrition and care was not what it should have been for a newborn or yearling, and hopefully being under the proper care will give her the ability to grow up big and strong.

Grant Sheridan

Grant is a 21 to 23 year old Gelding. A very forgiving, sweet horse who was pushed to his limit by a previous owner. Because of the stress and back pain he was experiencing, Grant would lock up his head/mind, then his body would follow and he would fall over backwards. Along with obvious wear and tear on his body, Grant’s tail had been broken in 5 places. But amazingly, being in a new and caring place, with the right people, Grant has come a long way to recovery. He is beginning to trust humans again.

It may not have a roof on yet, but it’s already started doing its job. We were able to move 12 ton a hay in and put on a temporary tarp on. The ridge beam is going up this weekend!

Teton Valley Great Snow Fest

Driggs, ID – December 10, 2012 – The Teton Valley Great Snow Fest will take place this January in Victor, Driggs, and Tetonia, ID, and Alta, WY. The event, driven by the Teton Valley Foundation, will begin in Driggs on January 11, 2013 with a community snow block stomping and following party, escalating to a variety of snow-related events taking place throughout the valley over Martin Luther King Weekend, January 17-20, 2013.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the tragic death of Julie & Jays’ horses, Kia and Khola. The anguish they must feel over such a great loss, breaks our hearts. We wish them peace, and the strength to move forward with the hope of one day being able to, again, share the love and compassion they shared with Kia and Khola. RIP sweet ones.
