SEPTEMBER 22, 2012 • LINN CANYON RANCH

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Divisions of the Ride
A. Open division: Obstacles will be more difficult, the completion times are shorter the judging is more precise. Awards will be jackpot cash, ribbons & prizes.

B. Pleasure division: Less difficult obstacles, completion times are longer and the judging is not as tough. Awards will be jackpot cash, ribbons & prizes.

C. Junior/Youth division: 7 – 15 years old. Juniors MUST wear a helmet and MUST be accompanied by an adult rider.
One adult may supervise up to 3 junior riders and each junior MUST provide written authorization from
their parent and or guardian consenting to same. Awards will be ribbons/prizes.
A junior rider may opt to ride in the Pleasure or Open division if they pay appropriate fees for that division
and wear a helmet.
If you have a younger rider that you would like to participate, please give us a call… right now our youngest is 4, she  is a member of the Teton Valley Pony Club.
D. Buddy rider: A buddy rider is a rider who rides the trail following the rules just like a competitor, but does not
participate in the obstacles. Buddy riders are not judged. A buddy rider may be a friend of a competitor, a person
who wants to check out the competition before they decide to compete or someone who wants to take the
opportunity to give their green horse exposure. (Or perhaps one who wishes to avail themselves of the scenic
trails accessed through HAPI.)

THE OBSTACLES

Here is a listing of some of the obstacles, as well as some of the judges criteria. Keep in mind that each of the ‘obstacle stations’, has been created by using several of the obstacles listed, combing them to make the ‘station’. You will not know how the obstacles are combined until the day of the ride.

YOUTH Division… the obstacles are much less difficult than the Open and Pleasure divisions and allowances will be made for safety reasons, i.e. if your horse does not want to do something, you may get off and walk them through it. In which case, dismount and mounting will be judges (if you need help, you may ask the Judges Assistant). Safety First!

HAPI Trails Host Hotels

This year is going to be a little different in hopes of growing our attendance and fun! You’ll have had all summer to hone your riding skills, so get ready to put them to the test in the beautiful mountains during the incredible Fall season.

As of July, 2012 this will not be an ACTHA sanctioned event. In order to reducing the entry fees and increase the difficulty of obstacles, we are striking out on our own! Now all of the entry fees will benefit HAPI Trails!

The structure will be the same, with 6 obstacle ‘stations’ over 6 miles of trail. The judging will occur during the obstacle. We will have prizes, ribbons and (hopefully) a cash jackpot, or Jiggs-Pot (named for our resident 36 year old QH!) for the winners of each division.

Please check back frequently, as we are still in the planning and playing process! And remember, if your looking to adopt an incredible horses, we’ve got 10 to choose from!

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING SPONSORSHIP, VOLUNTEERS, PARTICIPANTS & QUALIFIED JUDGES. If you are interested in helping or participating, please fill out the form below. This is just an inquiry form, this does not sign you up (yet!).

PARTICIPANTS can pay, online via our PayPal (prior to Sept 22), or by local check or credit card on the day of the event. Contact us if you have questions or check out the Registration Forms for more information.
