Lily is a 10 year old, beautiful, little quarter horse mare. She came to HAPI from a rescue in Blackfoot Idaho. We don’t know much about Lily, (this is the name given to her in Blackfoot), other than she is very well mannered, easy to handle and enjoys attention. She is healthy and strong, but there is a catch… we were told Lily was injured in the rodeo a while back. No one cared for her injury, thus creating even more of a health/soundness issued. She has an opening along the coronary band of her left front hoof. We are told she can recover, but it will take some fancy doctoring and a fair amount of rehab. HAPI trails is researching ways we can helpĀ her heal, but it might take surgery to get her off on the right foot.
We believe, this little darling is worth the effort. She does not show pain or discomfort and her eyes are bright.
We have not ridden her yet… but after a conversation with the vet we’ll let you know.
If you’d like to sponsor this little girl, please let us know! I’m sure she will make you proud!
